Original XBOX Limited Edition Consoles

Here are some of the Limited Edition consoles Microsoft made for the Original XBOX. Click on each picture to see a larger version.

This console was given to the Microsoft Development Team that helped build the original XBOX.
It has a signed engraving on the jewel on top of the console.

This is a Debug console given to developers and game publishers

This is a see thru Crystal Console that was distributed in Europe

This is the rather common Halo 2 console. It was distributed world wide

This console was part of a promotion with Mountain Dew. As most of you know, this relationship continues to this day as there have been numerous other promotions tied to Mountain Dew.

This console was part of a Japanese game tie-in for Dead or Alive Ultimate. The console came with the game, a limited edition figurine, and an *ahem* inflatable body pillow with a picture of Katsumi!

This console was part of a Japanese game tie-in for Panzer Dragoon Oorta. It also came with the game.

This console was a Japanese 2004 Anniversary Console.

This Special Edition console was given to Electronic Arts to celebrate their support of the nascent XBOX Live service.

This This console was part of a Movie Tie-In promotion with Pepsi. I don't actually own this one. It was on auction in the UK and the seller wouldn't ship to the U.S. If anyone has one of these and wants to sell or trade, please leave a comment.

  2. This is awesome. I was the Program Manager at MS Xbox that ran all of the plastic factories and made all of these special editions. I would love to check through my old email files and find our build plans and skus for each SE we made and reconcile it against your list and the Wiki site.
I have a few cool photos of back in the day where we were doing molding trials at GE ColorXpress in Selkirk NY where we were sampling all kinds of crazy colors and materials.
Apparently, one of the orange units we made at the trials in NY, were given out in Germany as an Atari special edition. I probably only gave one or 2 of those out to marketing or execs...
